Hustle culture has created a “me-versus-the-universe” quagmire and it’s keeping you stuck.

Entrepreneurship can be really lonely

And even if you’re lucky enough to have landed a biz bestie, it’s likely that they are the first ones in line to help you justify when you’re not making progress:

“You have a lot on your plate right now.  Maybe next month will be better.”

…and probably offer less-than-helpful advice:

“You need to make a plan and just get it done.”

And while they mean well, and you love them…none of that is particularly helpful.

I spent my first ten years as an entrepreneur feeling like I was beating my head against a brick wall every day.  

I accumulated knowledge and experience, learned all of the tech, and understood all of the strategies.

I became the go-to person for my circles when they had questions about what to do or how to do something.

The problem was, I never implemented any of it for myself. 

I consulted, advised, and implemented for everyone else, yet couldn’t get myself off the hamster wheel.

I hid behind the justification that I was too busy helping everyone else to work on my own dreams.

But the truth was that what came easily when I did it for everyone else was an absolute struggle to do for myself.

And then I was diagnosed with ADHD. 

Once the shock wore off, everything began to click and I learned to lean into the systems I had created around myself instead of resenting them.

I began to ask for the support I truly needed instead of feeling ashamed that I couldn’t do it on my own.

And everything shifted.  

With proper support, I began to actually get shit done.

The cobbler’s children finally had shoes.

Introducing Productive Shift, a 5-week accountability program for creative entrepreneurs.

Productive Shift is a 5-week program designed to provide the support you actually need. 

You don’t need another course and hours of videos to watch about concepts you could repeat in your sleep. 

And you certainly don’t need a business guru that shares her way of doing things and expects you to copy, paste, and magically be successful.

So you won’t find any of that here.

Here’s how this is going to happen:

As soon as you sign up, you’re going to receive a questionnaire to fill out so I can tailor the support you receive during the program.  It’ll ask you about your goals, your motivations, your strengths, and your struggles.

During Week 1 (Sept 21st-25th) we’ll schedule a 45-minute planning session.  We’ll define your goal for the program and develop a personalized plan for you to achieve it.

During Weeks 2-5, we’ll have a 15-minute check-in session each Monday to discuss your intention for the week and make a plan for any obstacles you may be facing.

Throughout the entire program, you’ll also have access to weekly Focus Sessions — a 3-hour virtual coworking session on Thursday afternoons. These sessions can be an amazing accountability tool if you’re struggling with sitting down to get things done.

During the program, you’ll also have access to our group Slack channel, as well as my resource library.  Consider it a space free from rabbit holes where you can bounce ideas off of me and your fellow program members, as well as access tutorials and guides that will save you time and energy when you’re missing a resource or learning something new.

FAQs

Is this a group program?

It’s a bit of a hybrid.  Your planning and check-in sessions are private, but the focus sessions and Slack channel are for everyone in the program.

Can you explain more about the Focus Sessions?

Absolutely! Each Thursday afternoon, I’ll be offering a 3-hour coworking session that’s run Pomodoro-style.  We’ll spend a few minutes letting everyone share their intention (a task you want to accomplish) for the session, and then we’ll all go on mute for 25-minutes to work on those things.  When the timer goes off, we’ll unmute and check in on the progress you’ve made. Rinse and repeat.

These sessions are the virtual version of the ADHD productivity technique called body-doubling, and they’re highly effective. I’ve added them at the end of the week to act as a fail-safe to help you actually stick to the plan we’ve created together.

Why the Pomodoro-style? If we’re struggling to get into a flow state, having a check-in every so often allows us to catch distractions and rabbit holes before they’ve suddenly eaten up an entire afternoon.  If you have happened into a flow state during a Pomodoro, it’s totally cool if you don’t unmute during the break and keep working. I’ll be really happy for you! 

These are optional sessions, and you can attend for only an hour or two if that’s what you need.  But if you’re struggling with sticking to our plan, and also not taking advantage of the Focus Sessions, then you’ll have to take personal responsibility for your results or lack thereof. 

Can I sign up for just the Focus Sessions?

As of right now, that’s not something I’m offering.  If there’s enough interest, I may consider offering these as a stand-alone option at a later time.

What happens after the five weeks are over?

I’m not going to lie, this program is a bit of an experiment for me, so I’m not entirely sure.  

I previously offered the planning + accountability calls in a longer format called Blueprint & Implement that was a private, three-month program.  I really wanted to make this style of support more accessible, and couldn’t resist the idea of pairing it with the Focus sessions that I’ve found to be so effective. 

Ideally, once this round is over, I’d like to host another one, but we’ll cross that bridge when we come to it.

What types of goals can we work on during this program?

Ultimately, that’s up to you.  My only requirements are that it’s something measurable and it’s something that can realistically be accomplished in a month.  At the end of the program, I want you to be able to say you did what you set out to do, and have the data to prove it. 

Ideas:

  • Launch a new product or program
  • Overhaul your client onboarding system
  • Implement a consistent marketing plan
  • Build an evergreen sales funnel
